30 Days - Turning the Hearts of Parents & Teenagers Toward Each Other

Can 30 days really make a difference? When it comes to building relationships between students and their parents, sometimes 30 days may be the best way to start.

Developed by Richard Ross, Southwestern Seminary professor of student ministry and co-founder of True Love Waits, with Gus Reyes, a Hispanic Youth Specialist with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, this remarkable resource is designed to re-open the lines of communication and help families rebuild and even deepen their relationships.

Starting with just ten minutes each evening, parents and teens find a quiet place and, by candlelight, open and alternately read five cards, each designed to build heart connections. One mother called it "an incredible experience; eye-opening, tear-jerking, and heart-warming all at the same time."

Why does it work? The authors drew not only on their extensive professional experience, but also on their personal desire to better relate to their own teenage children. So, as the title says, this resource turns hearts, because it came from the heart.

Great Expectations

Expecting Parents:
God is carefully creating your baby for His purposes and for His glory. You and your baby are important to God and to us. The Preschool Ministry at North Richland Hills Baptist Church has prepared a special place for your baby to come and hear about God’s love. We are dedicated to sharing God’s love with your baby as soon as he/she is born and for the months and years to follow. Getting to know you and your baby now so that we can pray for you, love you and encourage you is a privilege for us as we anticipate the arrival of your newborn. Please let Meredith McCown know when you are expecting, so through the Preschool Ministry we can encourage you and support you during this time. I look forward to meeting your sweet little one.

Parent/Baby Dedication

Parent/Baby Dedication is a time set aside in a worship service for members of NRHBC who are parents of newborns or very young children to publicly commit to bring their child up in "the nurture and admonition of the Lord." The meaning of the child's name and his/her lifetime scripture verse are read as the parents bring the child forward. Vows of commitment are made by parents, and then the church congregation is asked to pray for and support the parents in this endeavor. Parents should call the preschool office when they are ready to dedicate their child to schedule their personal dedication to be held during the worship service that is best for them. 817.284.9206.
