Faith In Action
Faith in Action: Don't Just Go to Church. Be the Church
Sunday, October 24
On Sunday, October 24, NRHBC is going to rally together for a time of commissioning and then go into our community to transform it through acts of service. Partnering with organizations such as the City of North Richland Hills and Cornerstone Assistance Network, there will be opportunities for our church body to serve others and improve their quality of life by restoring the homes of those in need in our community.
Also, for those not able to tackle a physical project, we will have opportunities to bless and serve others, such as the Police and Fire department, through gift baskets assembled on Faith in Action Sunday. Still others will be able to bless the community through a Bible distribution. Projects will be available starting September 26 and people of every skill set will be able to participate.
It is our desire that on October 24, we will not just Go to Church, but we will Be the Church.
In HIS Presence
We will kick off our Fall evening worship services on Sunday, September 12, 2010. These services are called “IHP” nights. “IHP” stands for “IN HIS PRESENCE.” The purpose of these evenings is to bring the church together during this time for prayer, focused emphases, and encouragement. With three morning services, this time is for our entire NRHBC family to come together as the one body of believers we are and offer encouragement to one another. We will be utilizing every age group to assist in presenting this fresh and creative approach to Sunday nights. The dates for the Fall IHP services are 9/12, 10/3, and 11/14. Please give these evenings priority each month on your calendar.

Teen Lifeline
The Teen Lifeline Support System (TLSS) participates in activities on school campuses and in the COMMUNITY, striving to provide effective help for hurting teens. This starts with ASSESSMENT and helps us know where the teen best fits in TLSS or if another program should be recommended. If we believe TLSS can help, then the teen is invited into our PROGRAM where we seek to provide tools and resources that will help both now and later in their life's journey. Finally, we seek to send teens out prepared. This may happen in a simple way with a group wrap-up or in a big way with an ending party. Ultimately, our goal is to LAUNCH students back into their everyday life equipped with skills and coping strategies to live life better.
